High Intensity/CBT therapist - Wellbeing Winter Programme

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major national initiative, and an innovative service which is fundamentally changing the way in which psychological treatments are provided in the NHS in England.

You will be part of a multi-professional workforce that will significantly increase access to treatment for people with depression, anxiety and other common mental health conditions, within a Primary Care setting.

NELFT Talking Therapies services (Havering IAPT) are third wave sites that provide psychological therapy within the standards of the stepped care model i.e. Step 2 (Low intensity) and step 3 (High Intensity).

NELFT is committed to the four Talking Therapies services (Havering IAPT)and the trust is seeking to employ motivated staff to contribute to the success of these services. We are looking to recruit High Intensity Therapists to support our expanding IAPT service in Havering.

We are looking for applicants who have enthusiasm for working in a primary care setting, who are adaptable; enjoy variety, can work independently as well as understanding the importance of team working.

Applicants should be either qualified High-Intensity CBT Therapists ( BABCP-accredited or in the process of applying for accreditation) or Clinical / Counselling Psychologist, They will provide assessments and CBT interventions (individual and group-based) to people with common mental health problems (i.e., depression, anxiety disorders).

The main responsibilities of the post:
1. To be responsible for the comprehensive psychological assessment of clients referred into the service and accepted onto the post holder’s caseload.
2. To formulate treatment plans, based on sound and current theoretical knowledge and good practice, following a thorough and specialist assessment
3. To be responsible for carrying out therapeutic interventions with a variety of clients and using a range of specialist therapeutic interventions as appropriate, with particular emphasis on advanced CBT approaches,both as group work and 1:1.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum pro rata).
