Summary

We are currently looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our in-house catering team. We not only provide day catering for our students & staff but also cater for large business and hospitality events run within the University throughout the year.

Located at our Craiglockhart campus, hours ranging mostly between 07:30-17:30, but there will be a requirement for occasional weekend and evening work for Events on site 5 days over 7 days when required.

The role

As a Kitchen Porter, you will support our existing team in the delivery of an effective Catering service to students, staff, and visitors to Edinburgh Napier University. The role mainly comprises the cleaning of equipment and the dishwasher area of the kitchen as well as supporting the chefs in ensuring the general cleanliness of the kitchen area and all of it equipment is kept to required standard.

Main duties include:
• Ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly by providing assistance to the chefs.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment and areas.
• Proper storage of food produce and upkeep of storage spaces.
• Checking in and storing deliveries of stock highlighting any discrepancies to the chefs
