Summary


An opening has become available for a friendly and enthusiastic Ward Clerk to join our busy Team on Wards 10 & 15 at Wansbeck General Hospital.

Although the post is based at Wansbeck, you may be asked to provide cover on one of our other sites if the service needs.

This post is part time, Monday - Friday 15:30 - 19:30 however you may be asked to work an early shift or weekends if the service needs.

To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.
To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
To input data regarding all admissions, transfers and discharges onto Patient Administration System.
To provide an efficient administration and clerical service to unit staff, visitors and patients.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.
