What you’ll be doing: The Royal Armouries & New Dock Hall is the largest dedicated conference, events and Exhibition space in Leeds. Our venue offers world-class facilities for high-profile conferences, conventions, exhibitions, awards dinners and corporate events for up to 2,500 delegates, hosting more than 380 national and international events every year. We\\'re looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dedicated catering team at The Royal Armouries. As a Kitchen Porter, you will contribute to a passionate and friendly team working in a fast-paced environment to maintain the kitchen areas to the highest levels of cleanliness.   • Maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchens and associated working areas
  • Ensuring all pots, pans, utensils and crockery are cleaned to the highest standard
  • Deep cleaning fridges, ovens and storerooms to maintain sanitary and kitchen safety standards
  • Working with and taking direction from the chefs
  • Assisting with basic food preparation
  • Transporting food and equipment between the on-site kitchens and storage areas
  • Ensuring the correct use of all machinery and equipment
  • Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image
  • Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
  • Complying with Health & Safety regulations
Who you are:
  • Passionate about working in a food service environment
  • Able to work positively with others as part of a team
  • The ability to remain calm during high-volume periods
  • Friendly, helpful & polite
  • Able to prioritise and work under pressure
  • Must be able to maintain standards and follow procedures
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques
  • Experience of using kitchen equipment
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Have a flexible approach to working
  • Aged 18 or above
