Main Job Purpose:

To work as part of a team or as a lone worker, in the London geographical area, carrying out the full range of duties associated Inspections at voltages to 11kv.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Inspection & Non Intrusive Diagnostic Testing of all plant and apparatus associated with the Primary Distribution network.
  • Fault location and repair of minor plant defects associated with the Distribution network.
  • Ensure that all staff for which he/she is responsible work to the DSR and to demonstrate a strong safety culture
  • Take Oil Samples for diagnostic testing from HV Plant.
  • Use of appropriate IT equipment
  • Immediate supervision of Maintenance/Construction staff within their working party.
  • To be prepared to assist other sections as and when required e.g. organisational changes, system emergencies etc as determined by your skills, knowledge and experience.

Nature & Scope

This position has been classified as a Specified Role and will be subject to pre-appointment drug screening in accordance with the UK Power Networks policy on Alcohol & Drugs".

The person undertaking this role will play a vital role in the safe and timely completion of the Inspection and Maintenance up to and including 11kv in the London Region. The job holder may be required to work at any location within the UK Power Networks area.

The successful applicant will be expected to work either alone or as part of a team of Inspectors that report to an Inspection Supervisor and have the support of experienced Field Engineers.
