More detail about the role: As a Physician Associate, you will work as part of the Team using the wide range of skills you have to support the Cherrybrook clinical team with Acute Oncology admissions and the Yeo ward team with inpatient admissions to the department. The Post Holders key responsibilities include providing the first point of contact care for patients presenting to Acute Oncology on Cherrybrook utilising history-taking, physical examinations and clinical decision-making skills to establish a working diagnosis and management plan in partnership with the patient (and their carers where applicable). As the Physician Associate you will act within your professional boundaries, providing care for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care under the supervision of a doctor. You will show safe clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within oncology, in consultation with the doctor. You will work with the multi-disciplinary acute oncology team to support the delivery of policy and procedures and meet the needs of patients. Supervision and mentoring will be provided by the appropriate senior medical staff - the type of support will depend on the post holders skills and knowledge and determined by our clinical governance arrangements. Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Interview Date: To be confirmed Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a 5.5% pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later.
