Summary

Practice & Prescriptions Administrator REPORTS TO: Pharmacy Technician HOURS: 20 hours per week Job Summary: To provide an accurate, timely and qualitative process for processing prescription requests for registered patients. To provide support to the prescribing technician, pharmacist and GPs as well as other members of the primary health care team, to ensure patients prescription requests and discharge summaries are processed in line with practice protocols. To ensure incoming reports to the practice clinical system are allocated and dealt with in line with practice protocols. Job responsibilities: To process, with the assistance of receptionists, medication requests from registered patients in line with practice protocols. To collect repeat prescription requests from post box and reception. To liaise with patients and pharmacies regarding queries and requests. To ensure medication is issued in line with the protocols and ensure that any queries raised are dealt with quickly and correctly. To ensure that patient queries on medication are highlighted to the relevant GP To assist the Pharmacy Technician with blood monitoring and audits processes. Assist the pharmacy technician in achieving practice targets in regard to prescribing. Responsibility for dealing with prescriptions that have not been collected and remove the details from the patient records and destroy the prescription To carry out any other requested duties with regard to repeat prescriptions as per the practice protocols. Action all incoming 111 reports as per the practice protocol. Responsibility for housekeeping of incoming EMIS message and task inboxes to ensure that all messages are dealt with in a timely manner and mailboxes remain free from old or redundant information.
