Summary
Responsible for the accuracy of payroll and expense calculations including compliance with Agenda for Change and local client organisation conditions of service, statutory regulations relating to income tax, national insurance, statutory maternity, adoption and paternity regulations, statutory sick pay regulations and court liability and CSA orders for deductions from pay. This knowledge will be complemented with an internal 2-year training programme. Responsible for the input of all appointment, change, termination, pension and additional payment forms to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of service and client organisation policies. Make complex calculations about payments including the rectification of under and over payments. Investigate payroll, expense and time and attendance queries and analyse detailed payroll, expense and time and attendance data to identify errors requiring an expert knowledge of how payments are made and calculated to a net payment. Ensure that all payroll and pension work undertaken complies with NHS Pension regulations. Maintain pension data within the NHS HR/Payroll system and NHS Pension system Update and provide information from employee pension records so that statutory returns can be completed in a timely and accurate manner. Resolve queries on NHS pension matters received from scheme members, their relatives or client organisation manager. Administer requests for retirements, pension forecasts, refund of contributions, transfer applications and preservation of benefits. Analyse, interpret and input payroll & pension data to ensure accurate employee and employer pension deductions are made when payroll is processed. Perform service desk duties to deal with client organisation manager and employee queries.
