About the role:
Gentoo is investing in and expanding its Property Maintenance Team and has new opportunities for qualified Gas Engineers to join the Group. Our tenants are at the heart of what we do at Gentoo, therefore, providing excellent customer service is paramount in this role. You will need to be a people person with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of teams, colleagues, and customers within Gentoo to ensure we deliver excellent customer service every time. Your working week: We offer reduced working hours through the summer with 1 pm and 3 pm finishes available. During the winter our Gas Engineers work up to 4.30 pm Mon - Fri. Occasional Sat morning working is required, when worked the following Friday will become a day off. Training and development opportunities are available to all Gas Engineers, including products and the potential for training in renewable energy air/ground source heat pumps and qualification renewal. We also can offer opportunities to progress within Gentoo.
What we are looking for:
As a Gas Engineer at Gentoo, you would carry out the following tasks across our housing stock in Sunderland: - Servicing, repair and installation work to gas appliances and equipment in line with current legislative, Group, and Regulatory Body requirements - Ensure compliance with, relevant legislation, Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, manufacturer’s instructions, and legislative standards. - Gentoo operates a responsive Emergency Out of Hours Service, which you may be required to work on a rota basis as and when required, with the potential of additional pay up to £865 per week. What we require from you: · A full clean UK Driving License · ACS accreditation in CCN1 and elements including CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1 · NVQ Level 2, or equivalent City and guilds craft certification in Gas/Plumbing · Experience of Gas policies and procedures, as well as knowledge of a variety of gas appliances is essential · Experience of G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems & Solar Thermal is desirable; however, full training will be provided. · A basic DBS check, paid for by Gentoo Additional benefits include: · 30 days paid holiday - plus bank holidays and birthday leave · Competitive pension contributions · Company van for work and commuting · Opportunity to work overtime · Potential to work out of hours with additional pay · Career opportunities · Health cash plan · Salary sacrifice scheme for electric car (lease car) · Access to an online portal for retail discounts and cashback
