Are you passionate about railway safety and maintenance? Do you thrive in outdoor environments and enjoy hands-on work? Rail Futures is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Track Maintenance Operatives.

About the Role

As a Track Maintenance Operative, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our railway systems. Your responsibilities will include:
• Inspecting and maintaining railway tracks, sleepers, switches, and crossings
• Performing maintenance work using both mechanical and manual tools
• Ensuring track levelness and security of fastenings
• Conducting safety checks on vehicles, plant, and equipment
• Carrying out lookout and hand signalling duties
• Reporting accidents and incidents promptly

Working Conditions
• Primarily outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
• Potential for on-call duties to handle emergencies
• Occasional opportunities for away-from-home assignments
Requirements
• Good physical fitness (ability to pass a medical examination, including drug and alcohol tests)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Reliability, responsibility, and safety awareness
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
• Basic understanding of English and numeracy skills
• No formal qualifications or prior experience required
