What you’ll be doing

As a Litigation Specialist at EDF Energy, you will play a central role in managing high-stakes litigation within our Customers & Corporate unit.

Your responsibilities will include handling all aspects of contentious matters, from defending claims made against EDF Energy to initiating claims on our behalf.

Whilst leading recovery actions for unpaid energy charges and manage the litigation process from start to finish, including court appearances and enforcement of judgments, You’ll manage a large caseload, ensuring precise adherence to court deadlines and effective case management.

The role will also involve providing timely, preventive, and commercially relevant legal advice on a range of issues, including contractual, statutory, and regulatory matters.

You’ll collaborate closely with business partners to understand their objectives, anticipate future legal needs, and support the overall success of our business.

Who you are:

As a driven and confident litigator with a passion for navigating complex legal challenges, whether in-house or within a law firm, you’ll possess a solid understanding of Civil Procedure Rules.

You thrive in high-pressure environments and are eager to take on advocacy roles, including representing EDF Energy in County Court hearings.

The ability to manage a demanding caseload independently, combined with your strong organizational skills, ensures that you meet critical deadlines and deliver effective results.

You’re also skilled at managing external law firms and counsel, ensuring that matters are handled within budget and align with business interests.

Beyond your technical expertise, you’re a strategic thinker who can provide commercially relevant legal advice and anticipate future legal needs. You’re adept at collaborating with business partners and enjoy contributing to the broader success of the team.
