Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our facility management company. As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical maintenance, repair, and operation activities across one of our flagship sites. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of electrical systems and equipment within our organisation.

Position: Lead Mechanical Engineer

Location: Central London

Salary: Up to £55,000 per year + overtime + benefits

Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance and Repairs:

    • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly and efficiently, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime and disruptions.
  2. Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all systems, components, and installations comply with relevant regulations, codes, and health and safety standards.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to procedures, inspections, and certifications.
  3. Team Leadership:

    • Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
    • Schedule and assign tasks to team members effectively, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources.
  4. On-Call Duty:

    • Participate in the on-call rotation, being available for emergency response and critical electrical issues on a 1 in every 6 weeks basis. (optional)
  5. Training and Qualifications:

    • Possess and maintain relevant electrical qualifications and certifications required to perform the role effectively.
    • Stay updated with industry advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies related to electrical engineering.

  • Requirements:

  • Relevant professional mechanical qualifications and certifications are essential.
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, and project management within a facility management or similar environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
