Summary

Regular monitoring and reporting on all elements of Strategy and Planning activities. Contribute to the strategic planning of joint partnership projects, identifying interdependencies across projects and functions, potential impacts on the wider organisation, resource requirements and building in contingency and adjustments as necessary. Develop policies and procedures in own work function with an impact on the wider organisation, as required. Communication The post holder is expected to establish and maintain relationships which enable BNSSG to operate as a partnership of clinicians and managers focused on improving clinical outcomes and services for patients. This includes building and maintaining effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the health and social care network. Liaising with external professional advisors and establishing strong working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including providers, on a range of complex contracting issues including performance management. Contribution to relevant system groups, providing subject matter expertise and input as required e.g. Health Care Improvement Groups. Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive, and contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups. Organisation and Planning Work with members of the wider BNSSG ICB and NHSE senior leadership and management teams to support the planning and design of the BNSSG Joint Forward Plan and operating model to set and deliver strategic objectives and business needs. Support the ICB Board and senior leadership teams to make decisions on the commissioning of healthcare services which improve health outcomes, reduce inequality and improve quality outcomes and patient experience, whilst delivering the best possible use of public funds. Leadership and Management Demonstrate ethical leadership and act as a role model for others in terms of professional conduct encouraging high performance and challenging inappropriate behaviour. Supervise team members as required, providing advice and training where required. Ensure the work of the Business, Strategy and Planning Directorate adheres to corporate governance standards, legal directives, statutory requirements, and relevant national, regional and local policies. Comply with the appropriate assurance and management processes to ensure compliance. Professional Development Demonstrable commitment to continuing professional development.
