Summary
The Palms Hotel is state of the art hotel and banqueting facility offering 145 rooms for a comfortable stay.
Chef
Working alongside head chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering and stocking. Must be competent and understand European and Asian cuisine.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Documenting each morning what the Head Chef requires before they prepare the day’s dishes
• Cleaning and organising the food preparation area for the Head Chef
• Delivering the ingredients that the Head Chef needs to prepare to the food preparation area
• Ensuring the Line and Prep Staff prepare the dishes according to the Head Chef’s specifications and standards
• Addressing and resolving clients’ complaints quickly
• Monitoring the kitchen area and the staff to ensure sanitation standards are maintained
• Ensuring all food products to be prepared are not expired
• Assist & Support the Head Chef with the day to day running of the kitchen
• Assisting with the ordering of kitchen related products and, close management of stock
• Ensuring all Health & Hygiene procedures are implemented & continually adhered to
• Competent & confident in training new staff
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: starting from £30,960.00 - based on experience.
Schedule: 37,5 hours per week. Available to work Weekends
Experience: 2 years (Preferred) in Restaurant and Banqueting environment. Proven experience as Sous Chef or in similar role.
Work Location: The Palms Hotel, RM11 3UJ
