Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established team of children’s community nurses.

We are a busy service with a diverse caseload working across North East Essex. We provide clinical interventions to children within their own homes 7 days per week.

We are looking for confident innovative nurses to join our children’s community nursing team. You will be required to work in conjunction with the Children’s department at Colchester hospital whose aim is to facilitate early discharge and care closer to home.

You will need to be a flexible practitioner within the community setting, a good team player and be able to develop collaborative working relationships with other healthcare professionals, services and agencies.

You will be responsible for a caseload of children delivering high quality patient care according to agreed standards which are set and monitored.

You will be offered opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally within a supportive environment and encouraged to participate in service developments. Clinical supervision and a supported induction period are provided.

To provide high quality, evidence based nursing care, without direct supervision, to children and their families within the community/ hospital setting, providing parents/ carers with support and advice as appropriate

To promote a seamless service assisting in the development of the art and science of Children’s Community Nursing and provide support to the Children’s Community Nursing Matron in the effective management of the service.

You will act as a role model in the delivery of patient care, lead, support, supervise and teach staff and contribute to the development of the service

You will be an advocate for children and their families, promoting child focus, family-centred care and provide effective liaison with the multi-disciplinary team and other professional colleagues and agencies involved within the child’s care.

The community team provide a weekend service and you will be required to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the service.
