Title: Interim Funding Projects Officer - External Funding Team

Pay Rate: up to £20.98 per hour PAYE depending on experience

Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours

Role Length: This opening assignment is for 6-12 months

Support the External Funding Team and other staff in the Programme. Management Service with the design, development, commissioning and delivery of externally funded projects and programmes that support economic growth. Support the implementation of the Council’s External Funding Strategy by researching and investigating possible sources of funding, attending meetings with interested parties, developing eligible projects, gathering and presenting information, developing partnerships and providing expert advice.

Play a key role in the delivery of the Crowdfund Walsall Programme and wider corporate social responsibility activity including leading on advisory support, project development, monitoring visits, programme monitoring, training and publicity. Provide general assistance to the External Funding Team including database development, record keeping, social media, monitoring and reporting on project outcomes and activity.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as an initial point of contact for the External Funding Team and Crowdfund Walsall Programme in responding to requests for information via a range of communication methods including telephone, email, website, and social media.
Research and investigate possible sources of external funding, gather relevant information (e.g. criteria, deadlines) and present opportunities to Council staff and committees.
Support the development of partnerships between various sectors in order to access funding for multi-agency initiatives.
Provide expert advice to Council staff to ensure that funding proposals are designed and approved in accordance with the Council’s grants manual procedures and funder rules and requirements.
Assist with the development of high quality bids including drafting supporting documentation, job descriptions, tender briefs and governance structures.
Liaise with project leads, partners and elected members to deliver promotional opportunities to raise awareness of external funded projects, including drafting press releases and social media activity.
Play a key role in the delivery of the Crowdfund Walsall Programme, running the match funding process, organising and presenting at panel meetings, advising projects, conducting project visits and supporting programme monitoring and reporting.
Lead on the Crowdfund Walsall Marketing Strategy to raise awareness of the programme locally through workshops, presentations, sharing best practice and updating webpages, social networking sites and e-newsletters.
Support the local Voluntary and Community Sector in identifying and tackling key issues and problems to accessing Crowdfund Walsall and other pots of funding, and strategies to address these, sharing issues and solutions with the wider project team.
Develop new and maintain existing good relationships with funders, businesses, stakeholders and delivery partners to ensure the External Funding Team has a good level of intelligence on each of its projects and to assist in delivery of economic development plans.

Qualifications:

Educated to degree level or possessing equivalent experience within the appropriate fields.
A relevant funding or project qualification e.g. IOF, AMP, PRINCE 2 or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Good level of project management experience including achieving outputs and targets, keeping records and budget profiles
Experience of developing and submitting successful external funding applications.
Experience of developing and delivering a wide range of marketing and communication activity including presentations, events, social media and other online material.
Track record of developing and/or supporting externally funded programmes.

Strong project development skills
Excellent project management skills
Outstanding presentation skills
Good level of ICT skills and abilities including updating webpages
Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of people from a diverse range of bodies and organisations
