Summary

The role:
As Longleat is popular with its guests, the Gardener will be guest-focused service as well as ensuring the highest standards of horticulture.
This role covers all aspects of gardening, grounds maintenance and other horticultural work including amenity grass mowing, hedge trimming, bedding maintenance, leaf and litter clearance duties.
Key duties:

To maintain the gardens to a high standard of horticulture
To carry out all aspects of gardening, grounds maintenance and other horticultural work including amenity grass mowing, hedge trimming, bedding maintenance, leaf and litter clearance duties.
To assist in hard and soft landscaping duties.
To ensure that the lawns and gardens are maintained and presented to the highest standards at all times.
To undertake mowing, brushing, aeration and renovations or replacement of damaged area of turf.
To be responsible for removal of litter and debris on a daily basis within the Gardens.
To maintain and report any defects or damage to machinery and equipment, ensuring all machines and equipment are cleaned after use and before storage.

You will have:

A passion for and great understanding of plants and horticulture.
Basic knowledge of plants, gardening practices and use of garden machinery.
Hands on experience in a grounds and gardens role.
NVQ level 1-2 Amenity Horticulture.
Knowledge of H&S legislation plus formal training in manual handling and Risk Assessments.
Ability to research, digest, analyse and present material clearly and concisely;
Good organisational and time management skills, plus ability to work on own initiative;
Good knowledge of and experience with garden maintenance equipment and machinery.
Full clean Driving License.
