Following the Royal Life Saving Society UK's (RLSS UK) programme, we will provide you with all the skills and knowledge you will
need to become a certified Lifeguard. At the end of the course, you will swim away with National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.




WHAT IS THE JOB OF A LIFEGUARD?

Our Lifeguards are tasked with ensuring a safe and enjoyable customer experience for all users of the Centre’s facility.




You will:

* Supervise the pool in accordance with RLSS standards and site guidelines.
* Carry out pool testing, and other health and safety checks as directed by Centre Management, passing results immediately to the
appropriate person and escalating potential issues promptly
* Proactively direct and manage customer behaviour during use of the pool and other relevant facilities, to ensure highest
possible levels of safety and enjoyment
* Undertake all day-to-day cleaning, maintenance and remedial work of relevant equipment and fittings to the highest possible
standards.
* Assist with daily operations ensuring effective, accurate and timely set-ups, take-downs and changeovers and preparation of all
areas for activities and special events as required
* Assist with deliveries to the centre, storage and stock control
* Safely support managing customer flow and expectation of waiting times where appropriate





WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


WE ARE LOOKING FOR FULL TIME LIFEGUARDS, WORKING UP TO 40 HOURS A WEEK, MONDAY - SUNDAY. YOU DON’T NEED ANY PRIOR QUALIFICATIONS
TO APPLY, AS YOU WILL BE SUPPORTED THROUGHOUT YOUR TRAINING, YOU WILL HOWEVER NEED TO HAVE STRONG SWIMMING SKILLS AND BE ABLE TO
PASS A SWIM ASSESSMENT, WHICH INCLUDES; SWIM TO A DEPTH OF 1.8, SWIM 50M IN LESS THAN 1 MINUTE, SWIM 100M CONTINUOUSLY ON YOUR
FRONT THEN 100M ON YOUR BACK, TREAD WATER IN DEEP WATER FOR MORE THAN 30 SECONDS.




HOW DO I APPLY?

We will be holding 2 swim assessments for this course:

Wednesday 11th at 7pm at Hanworth Leisure Centre

Saturday 14th at 1pm at Isleworth Leisure Centre

You must be able to pass this assessment to be enrolled on the course. Please note, part of this assessment will take place in the
water.

Our next course will be held on Monday 30th September - Saturday 5th October at Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre. Upon successful
completion of the course, you will be offered a full time position at one of our leisure centres. You must be able to attend the
course dates in order to complete your qualification.






ABOUT THE NPLQ

The NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) is internationally recognised and is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in
the UK and Ireland. It is commonly undertaken by anyone looking for a career within the leisure and fitness industry. The course
requires a minimum of 36 hours and includes both training and an assessment at the end of the course. The assessment consists of
the following:

* Practical pool assessment
* Theory assessment on lifeguard theory, pool rescue, first aid and CPR
