Summary

We are delighted to offer this recruitment opportunity within our Lincoln Learning Disability Team for an experienced Qualified Nurse or Social Worker (known internally as Qualified Practitioners level one or two - dependant on experience.) Ideally the successful candidate will have at least 2 years post qualification/registration experience.

The Qualified Practitioner role is both an exciting and challenging role. For those that love fast paced and ‘make a difference’ work, this is the role for you. About the Role

You will have an allocated case load which includes complex cases. Working in a Person-Centred way, carrying out strength based Adult Needs Assessments and Reviews focusing on what the person ‘can do’ rather than what they ‘cannot do’. Working with the service users and their families to maximise independence.

Our aim is to support people to reach their goals and aspirations. Whether that be employment, community access or moving into their own home. We help people to overcome the obstacles and challenges they may face, supporting them to reach their potential.

You must be able to Travel within reasonable timescale to appointments to meet the needs of the service this could include out of county travel or unplanned emergency visits.

Work mileage claims are paid for travel from the office to appointments.

Our core office hours are 08:45–17:15 (Mon-Thu), 08:45–16:45 (Fri). We currently work a mixture of home based and office working, however there will be a requirement to be in the office to meet the needs of the service.

About you

The ideal candidate will need to hold either a Social Work or Nurse qualification and be able to show that their registration with SWE/NMC is in date. The nurse qualification does not need to be specific to Learning Disability.

This position is unsuitable for newly qualified candidates who are yet to complete their ASYE

Suitable candidates will need the following skills/qualities.

A positive approach with self-motivation and enthusiasm.
Respect, we work in people’s homes; it is essential we treat people with dignity.
Excellent communication skills, we need to ‘hear’ what is being said AND not said, with the confidence to know when to demonstrate professional curiosity.
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Function well in high pressure/emergency situations
Hold a current driving licence and have use of a vehicle
