Summary


The North West School of Radiology (NWSOR) is seeking applications for an Interventional Radiologist who will will be responsible for the Interventional Radiology Simulation Suite housed at Aintree University Hospital.

Reporting to the TPD for IR, the postholder will work collaboratively with the School and NW Imaging Academies to champion interventional radiology simulation education across the NW to both postgraduate doctors in training and multi-professional groups.

Travel to our regional Academy sites is expected and required for all of our posts. All mileage and incurred expenses are reimbursed.

Main duties of the job
• Point of contact and subject matter expert for the Simbionix simulator, including developing SOPs and guides for trainers and trainees.
• Responsible for maximising the potential of IR Simulation Education and supporting Radiologists and multi-professional groups to delivery training and education.
• Contribute to teaching and room induction with NW School of Radiology trainees.
• Ensure kit and consumables are regularly inspected and secure and liaise with colleagues for restock and repair

The post holder will also work and support colleagues across the NW Imaging Academies including the Diagnostic Imaging Training Academy (DITA) @ Edge Hill.

The post holder will work collaboratively with Academy Director, Head of School, TPDs and Programme Support to support robust operational delivery of the Academy within the NW School of Radiology.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

The post holder will work in partnership with the Head of School, Associate Head of School Programme Support Business Manager, Programme Support team and educators to enable successful delivery of the Academy. The Radiology Academy has expanded to include teaching sites in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, The Christie, Aintree and East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals as well as installing a new dedicated site in South Manchester.
