Summary

Job Title: Project Manager (Oracle Fusion)
Salary Range: £45,000 - £55,000
Location: CITB, Peterborough

We're seeking an experienced project manager, with ERP, UK Government and Oracle Fusion exposure to support the ongoing transformation of our internal systems and services used by both our internal teams.
Our purpose: to support the construction industry to have a skilled, competent and inclusive workforce now and in the future.

CITB operates a hybrid working from home and head office in Peterborough policy, with approx. one day in the office per fortnight with additional travel to external sites and parties as required.

Role Purpose:
• The role of the project manager is to support successful change by leading projects within CITB, ensuring their effective planning to deliver technology focused change activities.
• The role involves working with both internal and external stakeholders, as required, to ensure projects are delivered to agreed cost, scope, and timescales, realising their agreed benefits.
• Reporting to the Head of PPM and Project SRO, this role works closely with the Change Managers, the Data and Information Manager, programme and project support staff provided by the Enabling Partner or external partners.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. The initiation, development, governance, and management of technical and change projects through the production of realistic, deliverable plans, including management of project budget and resources to ensure outputs are delivered within agreed levels.
2. Active management and decision making in respect of project risks/issues and communications with stakeholders within agreed tolerances to ensure expected outputs are achieved. Using influencing and diplomacy skills to be able to achieve the right outcome for the project, working with others effectively across other teams in order to achieve synergies.
3. Formation, management, and leadership of project teams as required, to create and maintain motivation in order to ensure focus on delivery is assured
4. Support the service management and wider change team strategy and aims of CITB as it pursues its IT, People and Data strategies

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential

• Relevant professional qualification, such as APM or Prince 2.
• Has ‘hand on’ experience of insource and outsource service transitions to bring about best value and value for money, improved cost efficiency and quality of services
• Expertise in facilitating a smooth knowledge transfer from the external provider to internal teams, new suppliers ensuring that critical information is retained.
• Skills in managing the concerns of stakeholders, including employees, management, and possibly the previous vendor, to ensure buy-in and minimize resistance.
• Expertise in identifying potential risks during the transition (e.g., loss of knowledge, service disruptions) and developing mitigation strategies.
• The ability to coordinate the necessary technical expertise to integrate these services back into the company's systems.
• Demonstrable ability to align the insourcing initiative with the organisation’s long-term strategic goals, ensuring that the decision supports overall business objectives.
• Experience working with UK and Local Government outsourcing and insourcing initiatives.
• Strong Stakeholder Management.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and onsite/offshore teams simultaneously.
• Good financial and budgeting experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of concepts and principles within own professional discipline, gained through broad and in-depth experience.
• A knowledge of Microsoft products including M365 and Azure.
• Communication, influencing and diplomacy skills to be able to achieve the right outcomes.
• Experience of the successful delivery of change projects impacting single teams/departments.
• Experience in managing teams, involving, and including IT Partners and third-party suppliers.
• Self-motivated and able to plan and organise own workload.
• Experience of successful delivery of change projects across multiple teams.

Desirable
• Level 5 coaching & mentoring.
• Educated to degree level.
• Experience in contributing towards programme planning and budgeting.
• Experience working with UK Government projects.
