As an Apprentice Hairdresser, you will be trained in various aspects of Hairdressing including styling, colouring and cutting.
Working as part of a team, customer service, reception, retail, shampooing/conditioning hair and learning the skills to be our future professional in Hairdressing.

Daily duties will include:

• Shampooing/Conditioning hair
• Keeping the salon clean and tidy
• Greeting clients
• Making refreshments
• Answering the telephone
• Making and booking appointments
• Preparing clients for further services/treatments
• Laundry

In time you will also work towards:

• Blow drying
• Colouring hair
• Cutting hair

We are looking for someone enthusiastic, committed and dedicated to beginning their career in the Hairdressing industry.


Working week: 30 -35 hours per week to include time spent in college.

Qualifications required:
Desirable: Maths and English Grace 4/C or above, or willingness to work towards functional skills in these areas.

The role will involve long periods of standing, therefore a good level of physical fitness and stamina is required

About the employer: The Business Hair and Beauty salon in Stocksbridge, Sheffield, is known for being friendly, relaxed and professional - the go-to place for those looking for high end styling and beauty treatments. The Business was established in 1994 by experienced hair stylist, Gail Larking, supported and funded by the 'Prince's Young Business Trust and Enterprise Allowance'. The original Stocksbridge Cinema building was the first home of The Business, in 2016 they relocated across the road to tie in with the Fox Valley development.
