Summary

Deputy Care Manager

Location: Office in Dunkeswell, care provided to the East and Mid Devon Areas

Salary: £31,000 per annum including enhancement for on-call

Holidays: 28 days including bank holidays

Job Purpose:

Beehive Care & Training Group Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Care Manager to join our team. In this vital role, you will support the Registered Care Manager in overseeing the delivery of high-quality domiciliary care services, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional, person-centred care. You will be responsible for supervising and developing our care staff, managing day-to-day operations, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and their families. Your role will also involve participating in the on-call rota, providing continuous support and handling emergencies effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Care Management:

- Assist in the smooth and efficient management of daily care services.

- Regularly review and update care plans to meet customers' evolving needs.

- Monitor and maintain high standards of care delivery.

- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.

Staff Supervision:

- Support recruitment, training, and development of care staff.

- Conduct regular supervisions and performance appraisals to ensure high-quality care.

- Provide leadership and support to the care team, fostering a positive working environment.

- Manage staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage.

Customer Relations:

- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and their families.

- Conduct initial assessments and ongoing reviews of care plans.

- Handle complaints and incidents professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Care Visits:

- Perform care visits as needed, providing personal and practical care to customers.

- Accurately document care visits according to company procedures.

On-Call Duty:

- Participate in the on-call rota, offering support and guidance outside of regular hours.

- Respond promptly to emergencies, providing appropriate support.

Compliance:

- Ensure all care services comply with CQC standards and other regulatory requirements.

- Stay updated on legislation and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve service delivery.

- Prepare for inspections and audits, ensuring service readiness and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

- Assist in leading and managing care services to deliver high-quality care.

- Support the Care Manager in strategic planning and decision-making.

- Act as a role model, demonstrating best practices in care delivery.

Service Improvement:

- Identify and implement improvements to enhance care services.

- Engage in quality assurance activities to drive service improvement.

- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and care quality.

Risk Management:

- Identify and mitigate risks in care delivery, ensuring the safety of customers and staff.

- Develop and implement risk management strategies and train staff accordingly.

Qualifications and Experience:

- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent); Level 5 preferred.

- Previous experience in a similar role within domiciliary care.

- Strong leadership and management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and manage challenging situations.

- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
