Summary
We are looking to recruit a Youth Worker who is passionate about securing the best outcomes for children and young people who need additional support. The post is to start as soon as possible, and you will be required to work during term time on an ongoing basis, with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff for the right candidate.
This school provides a personalised education for children and young people, supporting them with a range of learning opportunities and making them feel nurtured on their education journey.
In this role you will have a desire to gain working knowledge of meeting the emotional, social, and mental health of young people and be keen to experience a supporting role in a specialist education setting. Working closely with your colleagues and class teachers, you will deliver action plans for students across primary and secondary, taking an active role in implementing a programme that positively encourages learners to overcome barriers to learning, improve their skills and ultimately gain recognised qualifications.
Skills and Requirements for Youth Support Worker
• Interest in Youth work, Education, or care
• Individuals with an interest in specialised in psychology, special needs, or social and emotional mental health are desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff and caseworkers.
• You will be organised, patient and confident, with a sound understanding of the key issues currently affecting young people.
You will be fully supported by a mentor and attentive leadership team, encouraged to undertake qualifications that will help you further your career, and be rewarded for the positive impact that you make.
To be considered for this role, you will undertake a full reference check and be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
