Dunbar Education is Hiring for an Exceptional SEN School!

We are seeking a dedicated Classroom Teacher for a school specializing in Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Speech & Language needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold the school's ethos and philosophy.
- Educate and care for children with SEN, following individual programs aligned with their Education Health Care Plans.
- Teach class groups, specialized subjects, or a combination of both.
- Monitor, record, and report on students' progress and achievements.
- Prepare detailed reports for Annual Reviews and coordinate inputs from other disciplines.
- Provide pastoral support and liaise with parents and professionals.
- Contribute to the School Development Plan and assist in planning and monitoring tasks.
- Administer and report on Teacher Assessments.
- Develop, deliver, and review the curriculum.
- Maintain pupil portfolios and records of achievement.
- Promote equal opportunities within the classroom and school.
- Stay updated on local and national educational initiatives.
- Participate in the school's Performance Management.
- Line manage a small team of LSAs, including annual appraisals.
- Enhance classroom and school displays.
- Develop specific curriculum areas across the school.
- Engage in school activities such as swimming and trampolining.
- Attend relevant meetings and report to the Governing Body as needed.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the Head Teacher and Deputy Headteacher.
- Participate in professional development and training courses.

Curriculum Management:
- Manage resources within budget limits.
- Ensure a balanced and broad curriculum tailored to pupil needs.
- Provide training and support for staff.
- Keep planning, assessment, and policy documentation current.
- Monitor pupil progress and achievement regularly.
- Update and monitor assessment policies and strategies.

Job Context:
- Support pupil learning and development.
- Line manage LSAs, planning, implementing, and assessing learning needs and progress.

Physical Effort and Working Environment:
- Assist with the mobility of children when needed.
- Participate in physical activities like swimming and trampolining.
- Follow guidelines for moving pupils safely.
- Handle situations involving bodily fluids, intimate care, and administering medication.
- Deliver specialist medical programs as needed.
