Summary
What we require from a Residential Support Worker
• Passionate about working with children and young people
• Resilience and patience. The ability to manage challenging behaviour for
children with social and emotional needs.
• The ability to support children with their everyday needs and routines including;
emotional support, behaviour support, developing their independent skills,
advocating for children, record keeping. In addition to; cooking meals, cleaning
the home, washing & ironing.
• Ability to organise and lead activities such as; swimming, cinema, visits to
theme parks, arts & crafts, baking, computer games etc.
• Must be able to sleep over and undertake shifts, including evenings and
weekends
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with children (preferably in a
Children’s Residential setting) (desirable)
