Summary

A Vacancy at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our teams as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist. If you are a forward-thinking pharmacist wanting to expand your clinical knowledge and work in a specialist surgical role while also developing management skills, this is the post for you.

The post holder will join a team of specialist and generalist clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants in delivering a comprehensive and efficient pharmaceutical service, aligned to the needs of patients and service users.

It is an exciting time to join the department as we are reviewing the pharmacy service we want to provide, and making adjustments to roles so that we can deliver an effective service built around the needs of patients and working closely with the multidisciplinary teams on the wards. This will greatly enhance the knowledge and skills of our team and improve job satisfaction.

This role is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), with a requirement to participate in the seven-day working, late duties and on-call rotas.

If you are interested in this role please contact Zahir ul Hoque (zahirul.hoque@nhs.net), Principal Pharmacist, SWLEOC or Emily Wighton (emily.wighton@nhs.net), Deputy Chief Pharmacist (interim), Clinical Services.
• To provide a comprehensive and efficient pharmaceutical service, in accordance with the required standards of quality and professional practice, to meet the needs of the users.
• To provide high quality pharmaceutical care to patients and their carers
• To promote evidence based and cost effective medicines use, effective risk management, clinical governance and adherence to policies, procedures and guidelines related to medicines use

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.

We serve an area that is rich in diversity, with a mix of urban and rural areas, and differing levels of quality of life. We cover some of the most prosperous postcodes in the country, as well as some poorer areas. Together with our colleagues at NHS Surrey and NHS Sutton and Merton, we work to make sure that we deliver the best possible care to the communities we serve.

The Trust employs approximately 5,000 staff across its hospitals and is supported by over 500 volunteers.

In the full job description you will see clearly the full range of duties within these roles that will enable you to work as part of the pharmacy team and with the clinicians and ward-based teams to provide patient-focused, individual care for our patients. Tell us in your application how you meet the criteria in the attached person specification.

We would like to invite you to see for yourself the centre at work, and the role of our pharmacy team as part of SWLEOC’s day-to-day operations alongside your application. Please use the contact details provided to get in touch and book a visit to SWLEOC. Our strength is our team, and we would very much like for you to be able to see it, and picture yourself within it. We look forward to meeting you.
