We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Intravenous Vascular Access Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of intravenous (IV) vascular access services at Bolton Foundation Trust. You will lead our team of IV nurses, ensure the highest standards of patient care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance vascular access outcomes.

We are looking for a registered nurse to provide leadership and management for the IV vascular access team, supporting ongoing training, mentorship and professional development.

Takes responsibility for coordinating daily operations, ensuring adequate staff coverage and efficient service delivery.

Act as a clinical expert and able to perform advanced vascular access procedures, including PICC lines, and midline catheters utilising ultrasound and ECG technologies. Conduct patient assessments to determine the most appropriate vascular access device. Troubleshoot and resolve complications related to vascular access devices, and ensure compliance with infection control standards and best practices.

Work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to plan and coordinate vascular access for patients. Serve as a resource for staff and patients and be able to communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on vascular access devices and care.

Have a passion for quality and governance, monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes related to vascular access, review, develop and implement protocols, policies, and procedures.

Take the lead on quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care quality.
