Summary
To work across the local community to provide a specialist service to patients in pulmonary rehabilitation. The post-holder will be a member of CSH Respiratory Care Team providing a high-quality pulmonary rehabilitation service. To be the lead Pulmonary Rehabilitation team member for a designated pulmonary rehabilitation group working in conjunction with the Highly Specialist Therapists and Nurses for the whole of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service. To independently perform advanced assessment of outpatients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions to provide a diagnosis and deliver an individualised and specialised treatment programme of care. To manage own patient caseload and be responsible for a defined area of service, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and competency assessment, appraisals, clinical reasoning sessions and peer review. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is always available. To use evidence-based principles/current best practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner with freedom to act on own interpretation of data.
