Staffordshire Legal Services is a large in-house corporate legal team, consisting of lawyers, trainees and support staff, with a key focus on staff training, retention and progression.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Legal Business Team. We are a well established small team providing support to Legal Services through the provision of quality administration.

This position is a part time role, working 23 hours over 3 days, Wednesday-Friday (preferred) but other options will be considered for the right candidate. The role is primarily office based, particularly during the training period, after which time hybrid working may be considered.

Main Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:-

  • To provide administrative support to the wider legal team, comprising:-
    • Dealing with incoming/outgoing post.
    • Managing multiple mailboxes.
    • Scanning, printing and copying documents.
    • Enabling the sealing and signing of legal documents.
    • Processing invoices using MyFinance.
    • Assisting Fee Earners by opening and closing legal files on our Iken Cloud Case Management System.
    • Dealing with telephone queries.
    • Transcribing and formatting legal documents.
  • To conduct legal casework to support the functions of legal services, comprising:-
    • Collating and preparing court applications.
    • Obtaining statements from client departments and partner agencies.
    • Drafting of court documentation.
    • Reviewing documentation and liaising with client department, where necessary.
    • Adhering to Lexcel Law Society Practice Management Standard.
