Civil Enforcement Officer (CCTV) will generally be deployed at the discretion of management to carry out traffic enforcement using static or mobile CCTV.
They may be required to carry out this enforcement in an on or off street role. It is recognised that there are aspects of these roles which are different and this is reflected in the sections below, where appropriate.
Traffic enforcement using deployed mobile CCTV supports the Transport /Parking Strategy by ensuring that vehicles parked on the Public Highway, using Bus Lanes as an unauthorised vehicle, contravening moving violations as directed by legislation or in the authority's off street, surface car parks are in compliance with Traffic Regulation Orders.
The Civil Enforcement Officers support the Parking Strategy by ensuring that vehicles parked on the Public Highway, or in the authority's off street, surface car parks are correctly parked in compliance with Traffic Regulation Orders. The post holders provide a customer service to members of the public and are responsible for checking that Pay & Display/Pay on Foot machines are functioning correctly.
All post holders have input to, and contribute to the delivery of, the Service Delivery Plan.
Civil Enforcement Officer (CCTV) normally work standard office hours when undertaking static CCTV work, however, when working in either a mobile or ‘on street’/car park role will work early and late shifts on a 7-day roster basis.
