In this role, you will work within the Trade Negotiation Security Team (TNST). This team works to protect ongoing trade negotiations, providing clear advice following cross government policy to protect staff, assets, and information. Providing a trusted environment in which negotiation colleagues can confidently and successfully pursue the Department’s trade policy objectives. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be willing to travel overseas to support ongoing trade negotiations.
  • Provide administrative and delivery support throughout the lifecycle of these Free Trade Agreements. This will include maintaining the TNST inventory, procuring small expenditure items, arranging meetings with other business areas and external stakeholders, booking travel and rooms, and answering general enquiries to the team mailbox. 
  • Provide operational support for the implementation of security mitigation's during trade negotiations. Ensuring any issues identified are appropriately reported and recorded.
  • Contribute to the review, update and development of the strategic policy and procedures within the team. 
  • Support the development of the TNST Volunteer Programme.
  • Lead on deployment preparation, including developing and delivering defensive security briefings.
  • Be responsible for creating, maintaining and updating presentations, asset registers and logs throughout the life-cycle of negotiations.
  • Other tasks in line with the roles of responsibilities expected of an EO may be occasionally required.
