Summary

We are looking for a learning disability nurse with the passion and clinical skills to be part of the Children’s Learning Disability Team in Central and West Lancashire. The clinical development of our employees is a high priority. We have therefore opened up opportunities fornurses at Band 5 to be offered a developmental post aimed at meeting the band 6 post competencies.
A means of transport is essential and applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
The post holder will, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, work towards addressing the health, psychological, emotional and behavioural needs of children and young people with a learning disability and/or Autism. They will be responsible for their caseload and supervise that of other practitioners within the service. The post holder will also take a senior role in undertaking and supporting assessments for the school aged Autism Spectrum Disorder Pathway.
The post holder will undertake a personalised training and development programme, to support them to acquire the level of experience and competency required to work at Band 6 level. Once this is achieved the applicant will progress into a Band 6 role.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
