Summary


The West Middlesex Cath Lab team is a responsive and high performing multidisciplinary team providing support for adult cardiac services for Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust as well as other hospitals.

As a Cath Lab radiographer you will provide expert imaging for complex cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures operating a range of advanced medical equipment.

Day to day you will work with our Lead Cardiac Radiographer based in Cath Lab. Superintendent support will be provided by the IR, Fluoroscopy and Cath Lab Superintendent Radiographer.

Radiation safety is an integral part of the role and you will advise and support the Cath lab team to remain IR(ME)R compliant, optimise the radiation dose, whilst providing a high standard of care.

You will received full training in a range of advanced procedures. These range from day to day diagnostic procedures through to highly complex interventions. Previous cath lab radiographic experience is essential.

The core service hours are 8am to 1800, 4 days a week. Emergency cases are accommodated where possible which means occasional late finish.

We currently have one busy Cardiac Cath Lab but there are plans to expand the service with increasing demand from Hospital and Trust.





In the role of Cath Lab Radiographer you will

· Carry out cardiac procedures in our advanced cardiac Cath Lab, demonstrating proficiency in imaging techniques.

· Work closely with our cardiologists to provide accurate imaging guidance during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.

· Utilise all equipment within the department adhering to local as well as National protocols relating to radiation safety to both our patient and colleagues.

· Uphold the highest standard of patient care ensuring an efficient and pleasant experience throughout their time with us in Cath lab.

· Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimise workflow efficiency in Cath Lab whilst maintaining a patient focused approach in a fast-paced environment.

· Participate in ongoing professional development, attending relevant training to enhance radiographic as well as Cath lab skills and knowledge.

· Provide guidance to all junior staff in Cath lab, fostering a collaborative learning environment in line with our Trust Values
