Summary


Are you an experienced pharmacist looking for a career change or your next challenge in an acute hospital trust?

Due to career progression we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our modern purpose-built facilities at Colchester Hospital. This key position will allow a committed and self-motivated Pharmacist to lead our Pharmacy services to surgical patients.

You will be predominantly ward-based and a fully established member of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be pivotal in developing our clinical service within the speciality and will have responsibility for the provision of Pharmacy parenteral nutrition services.

We will soon be introducing an innovative Weight Management service and you will be pivotal in ensuring its successful implementation and development.

Our friendly pharmacy team are dedicated to nurturing, mentoring and developing our staff to reach their full potential. We provide pharmacy forums and tutorials. We support personal development plans, smart objective setting and opportunities for study.

ESNEFT is about to embark on a full site wide implementation of the EPIC electronic patient record which includes electronic prescribing and administration and pharmacy stock control system replacement.

In addition to our fully automated dispensaries, we host one of the NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service medicines advice sites and the Regional Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit (including a brand new Aseptic facility).

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the optimal and cost effective use of medicines within Surgery practice; minimising drug wastage and managing the use of high-cost medicines accordingly.

Provide an advanced level clinical pharmacy service to Surgical patients in line with the pharmacy Key Performance Indicators and agreed clinical standards.

Provide ongoing clinical support and guidance to pharmacy colleagues contributing to the clinical pharmacy service within Surgery.

Develop clinical pharmacy input into Surgical Services and provide departmental leadership into this speciality.

Be the lead clinical pharmacist in the provision of parenteral nutrition services, in accordance with local and national standards and strategy.

Oversee the implementation of, and further development of, the Trust’s Weight Management service.
