Summary

We are looking for an experienced Account Development Manager to join our team at Wincanton, based at our brand new shared user facility in Scotland. Reporting to the Account Manager, you will be expected to engage with a variety of Operational, Functional and solution design teams to develop and close new business opportunities. As well as supporting & developing our sales strategy with the Head of Account management and Head of Operations- Scotland

The successful candidate will be required to pass and maintain extensive security clearance and background checks prior to being offered a start date.

Day to Day

  • Provide general support to the Account Manager across key accounts and deputise in country where required
  • Manage sales negotiations and bid closing activities alongside the BD and Account team
  • Manage successful transition of the opportunities to the delivery team
  • Support the creation of Board approval papers for the Head of Account Liaison with key members of the People Team for technical advice and people solution design
  • Responsible for delivering revenue and volume growth into the Scotland gateway warehousing infrastructure, and unlocking new opportunities and markets within the Scottish landscape
  • Maintain knowledge of trends within the Scottish landscape, industry, and competitors’ sales activities
  • Working with the bid support and sales team to ensure bids, tenders and renewals are maximised, on time and compliant
  • Coordinate internal resources, manage solution/proposition development
  • Build a pipeline of genuine new business opportunities
  • Support tender processes from start to finish
  • Source, plan, and attend country wide exhibitions, forums and conference opportunities

What will you bring?

  • Proven work experience within Account Management or Business Development
  • Two years’ experience in supply chain
  • Relevant knowledge of the UK logistics industry and Supply chain challenges
  • Meet or exceed personal sale targets & account growth objectives
  • Outstanding presentation, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Strong personal impact; engaging and passionate
  • Skilled at building relationships and influencing stakeholders
  • Hands on and self-motivated
