We are now seeking a Pupil Support Worker to join our school team. Hours are 8.20am to 3.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.20am to 12.15pm on a Friday.

St Nicholas Primary School is a denominational school which provides for nursery children and stages P1-P7 with a current roll of 393 and 65 in the nursery. Its catchment area caters for children living in Broxburn, Uphall, Uphall Station and Dechmont.

St Nicholas Primary School is an integral part of the local community both educationally and socially. There are active and effective Parish/ Community links through St. John Cantius and St Nicholas RC Church in Broxburn. Strong links also exist with St. Margaret’s Academy, Livingston and the cluster primary schools.

The school management team is made up of a HT, DHT and PT. Nursery classes are supported by Early Years Officers and Early Years Practitioners. The rest of the staffing is comprised of teachers including music and PE specialists, Pupil Support Workers as well as admin and clerical staff.

The school runs a very successful breakfast club and provides after school clubs at various times throughout the year.

Distributed leadership is promoted across the whole staff. Staff demonstrates strong collegiality and teamwork which maintains the positive climate for learning in the school.

The school works closely with the Parent Council, local parish and wider community. primary school team to support the children's of Harrysmuir Primary School.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
