Summary

We are working in partnership with a school located in Barnsley, who are looking for a full time Teaching Assistant. The ideal candidate would be talented, creative, and enthusiastic about being a positive role model for students.

Teaching Assistants are given an opportunity to make a positive impact on students with autistic spectrum conditions and communication and interaction difficulties.

A successful candidate would:

Have experience in an educational setting either in specialist provision for pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
A history of working with students with challenging behaviour, autism spectrum and complex needs.
A confident, caring, and assertive personality
What to expect?

Working in these settings requires patience, confidence, and a caring attitude as many of these students have difficult social, emotional, and mental health issues which need to be managed.
Many of the students will have difficulties in displaying these emotions in a productive way so the use of Team Teach positive behaviour management strategies will need to be used often.
Many of these children have low self-esteem and will require positive re enforcement from you when they display good behaviours.

What we need from you:

To be currently available for full time employment.
2x references.
A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate on the update service
Team teach Positive behaviour management certificate required.
