Summary
Haematology Cancer Services is seeking an enthusiastic and bright individual who enjoys working in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary team environment. In this role, you will support in delivering quality service on our busy Reception in our new Grafton Way Building and UCLH. You will also be working as a Ward Administrator on our Haematology wards on an ad-hoc basis. The role is patient facing and patient experience is at the forefront of our operations. Therefore, excellent customer service skills and a calm can-do attitude are crucial. This is a varied role, that offers the chance to join a friendly, professional, supportive team.
This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly. This is an exciting opportunity to join UCLH. The successful applicant will be self-motivated and able to work autonomously, performing administrative duties including, but not limited to admitting patients into our patient information system, EPIC; uploading medical documents and clinical correspondence; collecting inpatient notes; supporting with patient discharges and providing administrative support to all clinical staff. You will be attentive to the reception & ward surroundings. Responsible for raising minor repair notifications as needed. Additionally, you will provide cross-cover for other ward administrators during times of leave or heavy workload to ensure the service consistently meets the needs of departmental staff.
This is a permanent full-time role with a 37.5-hour workweek. The shift patterns for the main reception include an early shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, a late shift from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm, and a regular shift from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Weekend shifts, either Saturday or Sunday, are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. When working on the wards the hours are 8.00am – 4.00pm.
