Juniper Green Primary School is a co-educational non-denominational primary school. It serves the residents of the Juniper Green, Baberton Mains and Colinton/Hailes areas of Edinburgh, a broad social mix.
The school is a modern building with excellent educational facilities. There are 14 classes and a term time only nursery. The Headteacher and two Depute Headteachers all have a teaching commitment.
The nursery operates during school term time only. In the nursery class, staff work together to ensure we get the right support, in the right way for every child. Our team of Early Years Practitioners (EYPs) and Early Years Officers (EYOs) work with individuals and groups of children to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all pupils. It is important to us that everyone feels part of the Juniper Green family. Staff are included and involved in decisions about the school and the way we work to support our children. This position of Early Years Assistant (EYA) will add to our staff team here and you will be supported and encouraged to be an active member of our team.
We are looking for someone to join our dynamic nursery staff team who has experience of working with children and who is committed to providing a high-quality service with enthusiasm and creativity. If you think your future lies in Early Years and you would like to start your career as an Early Years Assistant then we would like to hear from you.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.
To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.
