Summary
The following duties and responsibilities, designed around the Advanced Practice Pillars are not exhaustive and the Specialty doctor in Acute Psychiatry skills will be drawn upon within the wider scope of the practice pillars to support developments and innovation within both acute and crisis service and that of the wider service to promote innovation and change whilst practising at a high level of clinical expertise, autonomy and accountability. Leadership and Management To ensure professional standards are maintained To liaise with other professionals and voluntary organisations. To assist in training for students (e.g. nursing, occupational therapy, social care staff, psychotherapy and medical) To participate in monitoring and evaluating the quality and outcomes of service delivery. Clinical Practice To be aware of the provision of Health and Safety at work Act and to maintain safe and therapeutic environment and practice. To have a working knowledge of the Mental Health Act. To ensure all mandatory training requirements are met including attendance at Cardiac-pulmonary resuscitation, fire lectures and SCIP training. To operate within all national and local policies and procedures. To update and develop clinical skills in psychiatry in line with CPD requirements To keep accurate and clear records To be aware of and adhere to Child Protection guidelines and procedures of the Trust and the Area Child Protection Team. Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post, following discussion with the Consultant Psychiatrist and the Clinical Team Manager.
