Summary
The suitable candidate must possess the following skills:
1. Conducting comprehensive oral health assessments, including screenings for periodontal disease, caries risk assessment, and oral cancer screenings.
2. Performing professional dental cleanings, including scaling and root planning, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth and below the gum line.
3. Providing preventive dental treatments, such as fluoride applications and dental sealants, to protect against tooth decay and promote oral health.
4. Educating patients on oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing and flossing techniques, and providing personalized oral health instruction based on individual needs.
5. Administering local anesthesia and analgesia as necessary for pain management during dental procedures.
6. Performing dental restorative procedures under the prescription and supervision of a dentist, including placement of temporary fillings and placement of pre-formed crowns.
7. Taking dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist and interpreting radiographic images to assess oral health status.
8. Recording patient information, treatment plans, and clinical notes accurately in patient records, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
9. Collaborating with dentists and other members of the dental team to develop comprehensive treatment plans and coordinate patient care.
10. Participating in continuing education and professional development activities to stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene therapy and oral healthcare practices.
