Summary
An exciting opportunity to join our Professional Development and Clinical Education Team as a B5 Mandatory trainer. You will be working for a dynamic and dedicated team who provide training to staff within Dorset Healthcare and to the wider ICS and private sector.
The role involves hybrid working; Office based (MOD base, West Moors or Sentinel House), within Trust training venues and external venues across the county and with the opportunity for some working from home as required/agreed. It offers flexibility, autonomy and a fantastic opportunity to build upon our current training offer.
You will have demonstrable knowledge of First Aid, Basic Life Support and Manual Handling and have a teaching/training qualification or be willing to work towards one.
This role offers a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic professional the opportunity to review current learning and make a positive impact on the learner’s experiences. You will have the opportunity to co-facilitate development within the team, including the designing of training at various tiers and the delivery of training to a variety of learners.
This is a part-time post of 22.5 hours per week/3 days per week. Flexible working may be required in response to service needs.
Employment in this post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
We are looking for a motivated and proactive team player with recognised certificates/qualifications in Moving and Assisting (Manual Handling), Basic life support and First Aid. You will be required to deliver training in a variety of settings across Dorset and therefore have a willingness to travel.
The post holder will deliver mandatory training to Dorset HealthCare staff and partner organisations. Duties will include;
· To deliver training as part of the Trust induction programme.
· To promote safe practice by delivering high quality training in line with Trust policy and legal requirements.
· To support delivery of mandatory training to Dorset HealthCare staff and partner organisations
· To disseminate best practice based on current evidence.
· To develop and maintain links with Trust staff and external clients.
· To ensure CPD is maintained and where required disseminate best practice based on current evidence to staff across the Trust.
