Summary

Are you ready to make a difference in mental health care? Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an innovative and passionate consultant psychiatrist for the Children and Young Peoples Eating Disorder Service (CYPEDS). The successful candidate will offer clinical leadership to the CYPEDS team. The role involves contributing to the assessment and therapeutic needs of children, young people, and their families across various settings, and collaborating with the team to devise and implement customised treatment plans.

We're committed to supporting our team members and are open to discussing competitive recruitment and relocation packages to welcome the right candidate to Cornwall.

Step into a role where your leadership will be valued, your ideas welcomed, and your career can truly thrive.

Apply today and be part of a future-focused team dedicated to making a lasting impact on mental health services in Cornwall.

At Cornwall CYPED, we are dedicated to providing NICE-concordant, evidence-based treatments for children and young people with eating disorders. As a key member of our team, you will assess and address the therapeutic needs of our patients and their families, contributing to the development and implementation of personalized treatment plans. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our status as having the lowest rates for specialist ED bed use in the South West.

You will work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team that includes paediatrics, nursing, systemic family therapy, psychology, and other therapeutic specialties. Cornwall CYPED is recognized as a regional leader for its innovative services, such as our physical monitoring program, parent support groups, Bulimia treatment pathway, and collaboration with the local Adolescent Unit to enhance eating disorder care. Your role will be essential in advancing our service, particularly in initiatives for ARFID and day care provision for Anorexia Nervosa.

We encourage the successful candidate to develop a personal development plan, supporting lifelong learning and growth. New appointees are also offered opportunities for professional development, including pursuing further qualifications, research, or involvement in our transformation initiatives, with flexibility in Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs).

We are a dedicated NHS community and mental health provider based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, committed to enhancing the physical and mental health of our community. Our services range from community and hospital-based care to specialised support for individuals living with dementia or a learning disability.

At our core, we are a people-focused organisation because we believe that people matter. As a member of our team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of both residents and visitors in this stunning region of the UK.

Our Trust is made up of over 4,000 skilled professionals, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and essential administrative and support staff. We deliver care directly in people’s homes, within community clinics, and from our 13 community hospitals. Our vision is clear: to have great people providing great care, making this a great place to work, and being a great partner in the community.

Cornwall is home to approximately 568,000 residents, with a third of the population receiving acute hospital services in Devon. This necessitates close collaboration with our partners across Devon. Additionally, during the summer and holiday seasons, our services extend to accommodate the many visitors who choose to explore and enjoy this beautiful area
