We are seeking an Electrical Bias Project Engineer to deliver innovative technical solutions in support of our business needs.

This is an exciting and challenging role in which you will predominately offer sound engineering solutions in support of operational activities across a wide range of technical issues and implement continuous improvement strategies. You will therefore have the ability to quickly understand complex technical matters and be able to design and implement your solutions in line with the bespoke engineering challenges of a demanding marine environment.

The diversity of this role includes; project engineering, producing engineering designs and proto-types, reviewing tenders, producing specification documents and reports, producing drawings in conjunction with other technical staff, undertaking general surveying, test & commissioning (both on-site and in the depot). Good problem solving skills are key to overcome technical challenges in order to improve the delivery of our service.

Whilst this role will be based either in Harwich or Swansea, there is a requirement to work on-site at our remote stations located onshore and offshore within our jurisdiction. These visits will typical be between a few days and up to 3 weeks and often outside of normal office hours.

Skills and experience

- Experience within a highly technical engineering environment.
- Experience of project management techniques.
- In depth knowledge of HSE within an operational environment.
- Experience of managing contractors.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement rules.
- Experience of budget bidding tracking against agreed targets.

Qualifications
- Level 4 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Project management qualification (e.g. Prince2) desirable.
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations desirable.
