Summary


An opportunity has arisen to cover a secondment for 9 months in the Blood Science reception team to help with the management of a large team delivering a 24/7 service in the blood science reception where samples are delivered from GPs and inpatients and need details entering into pathology databases. The training and team leader will be responsible for ensuring day to day duties and workflows are maintained as well as training and competency assessing and developing staff.

Post can be either a secondment opportunity for internal CUH staff with managers permission or a fixed term contract for 9 months.

You will act as deputy to the Specimen Reception Managers by assisting the Reception Managers in the leadership of the Pathology reception area including managing the staff and processes within it when the reception managers are not available. You will support the Reception Managers in the coordination of the day-to-day activities of the team, and will assist with the implementation of plans for service improvement.

You will establish the reception area as a functional interface between the users and the laboratory and will provide specialist service to the reception team such as training, advanced trouble shooting and problem solving. It will also be expected of you to be able to work flexibly within the reception area and to maintain the delivery of a 24 hour, 7 days a week service.
