Summary

The Bexley children and young people’s services work with aspiration for all children and families. This role is within SE London NHS ICB Bexley Commissioning Team, working in an integrated way with Bexley Local Authority Children and Young People’s Services.
About the Role
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is a priority for Bexley Borough, working together with all partners to achieve better outcomes for children, young people and families with SEND. We are ambitious about creating sustainable improvements and co-production with Bexley children, young people and parents.
Bexley Borough is responding to a local area SEND inspection which took place November 2023, taking action on a system-wide SEND Priority Action Plan, and preparing for a new inspection in 2025.
We are seeking an experienced programme manager to deliver the programme management of the SEND Priority Action Plan. This role works alongside programme management for the Safety Valve programme, with distinct oversight of the SEND Priority and Improvement Plan to evidence and support the area delivery of outcomes.
This is an integrated LA and NHS ICB role, for up 18 months. As the postholder you will work with Bexley LA and NHS ICB leadership and provide direct delivery and high-quality project management for the workstream activity that forms the SEND Priority Action Plan for SEND improvement.

The role requires in-person presence in the Bexley Borough , with online working from home available for some activity.
Candidate Profile
You will manage the supporting processes that underpin the SEND Priority Action Plan programme, including the development of systems of evidence of progress, risks and procedures to ensure that the programme is implemented efficiently and effectively and outcomes are documented.
As an experienced Programme Manager or Quality Improvement professional, you will understand the importance of comprehensive plans to ensure actions, accountabilities, budgets, and timescales are defined and links are made with other programmes and key stakeholders.
Your sound understanding of project management methodology alongside a pragmatic approach will enable you to achieve expected outcomes to the required standard and within the agreed timescales.
You will communicate verbally and through written and visual presentation of information and data, to be understood and engaging for a range of audiences.
