Summary

We are recruiting for an Early Careers Advisor to join our Early Careers Recruitment team in either Bristol or Manchester. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.

Early Careers sits within the Recruitment team to attract talented future solicitors into the firm. The team work closely with other HR functions to deliver a proactive and efficient early careers service. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Early Careers, you will be working collaboratively across the team to deliver the Early Careers strategy as set by the Senior Manager across the UK, including recruitment attraction and selection, career progression and development interventions to ensure a strong cohort of Newly Qualified associates enter the firm each year.

Your Role

As an Early Careers Advisor your day to day remit includes:

  • Deliver a high quality recruitment and assessment service for Apprentices and other Early Careers Programmes against a set of agreed KPIs (for example direct sourcing, cost and time to hire).
  • Design and implement creative apprentice recruitment advertising and attraction campaigns and an appropriate assessment process, continuously reviewing, improving and evaluating its effectiveness.
  • Design, plan and run multiple complex school outreach activity, assessment processes, work experience events, insight days and engagement activities related to graduate and apprenticeship activity. Manage and develop third party outreach provider and school relationships.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to source, attract and hire graduate applicants across a diverse background to support TLT’s EDI agenda in a competitive market
  • Complete offer, decline and feedback processes with candidates and draft offer and contract documentation for review by the Early Careers Managers.
  • Work with others in Recruitment and HR teams to ensure new hires experience a smooth, seamless pre boarding and on-boarding experience while joining TLT and support in their learning and progress reporting by offering pastoral care.
  • Maintain core sets of data, documents and reports to support the Early Careers Managers in their work including ensuring recruitment and development data is updated in a timely and accurate fashion, and collating benchmarking and other data requests at key times of the year.
  • Engage, manage and motivate apprentice cohorts including pastoral care and development and training needs.
  • Support with the design and delivery of a highly engaging induction to ensure apprentices are ready and equipped to join their teams
  • Act as a technical expert on all aspects of Apprenticeship administration including training provider registration and qualification processes, experience requirements when training and other technical matters
  • Responsible for internal and external comms relating to apprenticeships including monthly newsletter, social media, internal intranet and website.
  • Advocate all TLT qualification routes both internally and externally. Support Cilex pathway and renewals.

Your Skills and Experience

  • A proven track record of working with or recruiting apprentices and / or graduates across multiple sites in the legal sector.
  • You must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of working effectively with senior stakeholders, and have strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Experienced at sourcing and approaching suitable future talent candidates through schools, outreach providers, universities, events.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to plan, manage and deliver the full apprentice or graduate recruitment life-cycle in line with the ambitions of the TLT employer brand and experience.
  • Very resilient, a self starter with drive and passion for apprenticeships.
  • Willingness to travel nationally for assessments and events essential.
  • Engaging, able to collaborate and bring colleagues on board with events where required.
  • Confident presenting / hosting an event essential.
  • Creative mind to constantly seek new ways to attract students to TLT including use of social media and new technology.
  • Be able to demonstrate high performance against KPIs in previous roles.
  • Experienced in the use of an ATS to manage vacancies and candidates preferred.
  • Good understanding of relevant employment, data protection, Professional and Regulatory rules, laws or regulations which are relevant to the recruiting of employees to a Legal Firm.
