Summary
Background
Within the Directorate of Marketing and Communications, Admissions delivers a high-quality service to enquirers, applicants, and their advisers.
Admissions is responsible for:
Operating fair, transparent and responsive admissions and selection policies to deliver an excellent applicant experience.
Managing admissions processes to achieve agreed student number recruitment targets.
Providing professional leadership and advice on all admissions activities including to those parts of the University that have delegated responsibility in these areas.
Planning and managing confirmation and clearing.
Overseeing and contributing to ongoing UKVI compliance activities.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our busy and postgraduate admissions team. The post holder will be responsible for making decisions on applications, communicating with applicants managing their workload and ensuring excellent customer service.
The Admissions Officer will work collaboratively with the colleagues across Admissions team and will work closely with Faculty Operations teams and external partners on interview arrangements for postgraduate applicants to professional health and initial teacher education programmes.
The post holder will work together with colleagues across Admissions, Marketing and Communications and Planning and Academic Administration to support and deliver key activities such as Clearing, Open and Applicant Days, Registration and Graduation.
The Person
You will have experience of assessing applications to study in a busy admissions environment. You are able to work in a team to ensure high levels of accuracy and customer service. You will have an awareness of the current issues impacting Higher Education, as well as an excellent knowledge of Admissions processes.
