We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Administrative Assistant to join our Debt Recovery Team based at our Head Office based in Eastbourne to provide effective and efficient administrative support, focusing on facilitating the collection of outstanding debt from late paying & overdue customers using appropriate Company Recovery Procedures.
This role sits within our busy and evolving Finance Team situated at our Head Office which supports a network of over 200 branches nationwide as well as our ecommerce businesses which has seen significant growth in recent years. This position would be an ideal next step for someone who is looking to progress in their finance career and who would relish the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing team.

What does the role of Administrative Assistant involve?
This role involves assisting with tracking payment plans, processing payments, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive financial information while maintaining confidentiality.
Additional responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring all new credit account applications have the necessary credit checks & searches carried out, within agreed timescale• Convert applications to credit accounts where the application meets Company guidelines• Manage any referred accounts returned for opening or rejection as appropriate• Ensuring all customer records are accurately maintained• Ensuring telephone payments are promptly & accurately posted to the customer account & allocated to outstanding debt• Negotiating with customers on payments and payment arrangements• Ensuring payments arrangements are adhered to using appropriate communication• Ensure all Bad Debt is recorded accurately for monthly reporting• Providing information, assistance and support to regional staff and customers regarding applications and debt recovery matters.

• Strong organisational skills with the confidence to effectively plan and prioritise your workload • Confident working on your own initiative• Working knowledge of Credit Control & Debt Recovery experience through to legal recovery• Clear attention to detail and ‘right first time’ approach• Willingness to use initiative to resolve issues and seek solutions• Confident self-motivator with ability to manage own time effectively, work under pressure and to deadlines, with excellent prioritisation skills• Excellent written and verbal communication• Desire for continual improvement, embracing technology and driving efficient ways of working• Ability to work within a team environment as well as being proactively independent• Strong MS Excel skills required
